The Alabama Council maintains an active presence in the state's legislative process and elections. Staff members, together with the executive committee and chapter presidents, comprise the governmental affairs committee.
The committee monitors current legislation particularly those before lawmakers, particularly those bills that affect the practice of architecture. In addition, the Alabama Council retains one of the states most prominent legislative consulting firms, Fine Geddie & Associates, on an on-going basis.
We continue to work with the Alabama Interior Design Coalition and the Alabama Board of Registration of Architects to monitor legislation effecting this industry.
