Archi-PAC was established to strengthen the collective voice of architects in Alabama, the political action committee for members. Contributions to Archi-PAC are strictly voluntary and funds collected through the PAC are earmarked for financial support for those candidates who are supportive of the design and construction industry in Alabama.

Our professional lobbying team at Fine, Geddie and Associates is on the hill daily to represent our interests. Hiring professional representation is the easy part. But, to really be effective, you must function in three key areas; direct lobbying, grassroots contact with legislators and financial support of legislators who share your political philosophy.
The Alabama Council needs to improve our relationship with House and Senate members at the grassroots level. Each Chapter should schedule at least one monthly meeting where their House and Senate members are invited to address the chapter. Such meetings would raise the visibility of the profession and foster better rapport with our elected leaders.
The Alabama Council must dramatically improve our participation in funding Archi PAC. In the past election cycles, Archi PAC has contributed over $65,000 to legislative candidates. Now, we must replenish those funds for the 2006 elections.

Archi PAC Alabama: Support Your Profession's Legislative Voice
Since its formation in 1994, Archi PAC Alabama has served as the vehicle for providing funding that allows the Alabama Council AlA to monitor legislative issues and make campaign contributions to lawmakers supportive of the architects' professional interests.
The Alabama Council has worked hard over the past few years to establish a presence on capital hill. In the last election cycle, Archi PAC, our political action committee contributed over $65,000 to legislative candidates seeking election or re-election. Regardless of your opinion of political action committees, that's how the system is designed and that's how it works. It takes real dollars to pay for brochures, advertising and campaign material. We can either participate in the process and band together to protect the profession or do nothing and get overlooked when issues arise that affect us.
Please consider making a contribution to Archi PAC to help us rebuild our PAC funds for the next election cycle. Alabama is at a critical juncture. Our elected leaders will be forced to make some very difficult decisions in the near future that will determine the direction of the state for many years to come.
